Emergency Room Physician (MD/DO) – Indian Health Service

Job Summary

We are seeking an Emergency Room Physician to provide care at a 27-bed Indian Health Service hospital serving approximately 14,500 patients in North Dakota. Delivering a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services to a Native American population.

This role involves providing emergency medical care in a low-to-moderate volume setting with access to on-site support services and a collaborative clinical team.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting to the Emergency Department
• Provide care for patients of all ages (adult and pediatric)
• Stabilize and manage acute and chronic conditions
• Perform emergency procedures within scope of practice
• Coordinate care with hospitalists and available specialty services
• Document patient encounters accurately and in a timely manner

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts (days and/or nights)
• Block scheduling available
• Ongoing contract opportunities

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited program
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine with ER experience
• Active and unrestricted medical license (ANY U.S. state license accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (ATLS preferred)
