Pay: 24-26$


Job Overview:

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to support patient care within the VA Medical Center in San Diego. This role is essential in providing direct, hands-on care to veterans in a clinical setting, ensuring comfort, safety, and dignity at all times. CNAs will work closely with nursing staff to assist with daily care activities and support overall patient well-being.


Key Responsibilities:

Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting

Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to nursing staff

Assist with patient mobility, transfers, and positioning to prevent injury and promote comfort

Support infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe patient environment

Observe and report changes in patient condition, behavior, or physical status

Assist with feeding and hydration while monitoring intake and output as directed

Provide emotional support and respectful care to patients and their families

Document care activities accurately per facility guidelines

Collaborate with nurses and healthcare team members to support patient care plans


Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED

Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification

Current BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)

At least 1 year of experience in a clinical or healthcare setting


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a hospital or acute care setting

Experience with veteran or geriatric populations

Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems

Strong communication and teamwork skills
